about chantelle
Chantelle was born in Vineland New Jersey one minute after twelve in the afternoon. the doctor told her mother if she hurried up the delivery process she could have lunch. when Chantelle was twelve she opened a package with her mother’s name on it. in the package she found a cd of Joan Baez’s greatest hits. She put “diamonds and rust” on loop. she heard her mother’s high heels strike the pavement outside. as the door opened before she could be reprimanded for opening this package that did not belong to her she looked at her mother and began singing “well I’ll be damned…”
years later she found herself telling sultry, philosophical stories behind her own raw acoustic guitar stylings.
